New family homes in Cheltenham close to the town centre

Welcome to our consultation website which has been prepared to inform you of our development proposals for The Folley, Swindon Road.

The Folley is considered one of the few remaining opportunities to create a significant number of new homes and useable public open spaces within walking and cycling distance of Cheltenham Town Centre. This website provides more information about those proposals and how you can provide your feedback.

As part of the public consultation process, we held a community drop-in event on 11 January 2024. The information displayed at the event is provided below.

On 11 January we held a drop-in event at Gardners Lane Primary School where residents could find out more, meet the project team and provide feedback. Thank you to all those that attended.

The proposals at a glance

Around 125 new family homes, of a range of types and sizes, with an emphasis on affordable home ownership, known as shared ownership, and homes for rent;
New areas of useable public open space and tree planting, whilst retaining existing boundary trees;
Pedestrian and cycle connectivity to local services, parks & Town Centre routes;
A sensitive approach to the boundaries of the site, protecting the amenity of adjacent neighbours;
Provision of a new sports pitch, with changing facilities and a dedicated parking area for a sports club within the local community;
Ecological enhancements, a sustainable drainage system and a measurable net gain in biodiversity.
Measures to ensure homes are modern and energy efficient in response to the declared climate emergency, including renewable heating technologies & electric vehicle charging provision.
